How to get your online shopping done faster
Marketplace Marketplace Marketplace data is often the best way to make sense of a complex topic like consumer trends, said Scott J. Greenberg, a professor at Indiana University’s Ross School of Business.
Marketplace data also helps people understand their buying decisions, he said.
“I think there’s always going to be a need for some context and some sort of contextual information that we can present to people,” Greenberg said.
“You have to know the market as it exists and how it evolves.
So, you need some context for that.”
Marketplace data allows consumers to understand how they are purchasing, Greenberg said, which can help people make more informed buying decisions.
“It’s really helpful to have a little bit of data that can be pieced together to make informed decisions about buying and buying behavior,” Greenberg told CNN.
“So, for example, I think people might be concerned about their kids’ college costs and whether they want to buy them an iPad or an iPhone or an Amazon Echo,” Greenberg added.
“I think that a lot of people have this fear of spending a lot more money and a lot less in college.
And there’s a reason for that.
So I think you’re going to see a lot in the future where consumers are going to want to use Marketplace data as a way to figure out what’s going on with their education.”
Consumers also want to be able to compare products, but sometimes that can become difficult.
Greenberg said Marketplace data can be useful to consumers in that they can compare products with similar prices or offers and see which offers are more appealing.
“You can kind of see the price differential,” he said, adding that Marketplace data helps consumers compare prices and offers.
“So, they might see a price difference of a product they want versus a product that’s a little cheaper.”
For example, a $200 Amazon Echo speaker might cost about $400 if you buy it through a Marketplace seller.
But if you’re on a $50,000 plan, it’s a $300 item.
Marketplace sellers can also tell you how much each device is selling for, Greenberg explained.
“That kind of gives you a lot to compare that’s just from the seller’s perspective,” he added.
Greenberg noted that if you shop through a marketplace, you may see items that are selling for significantly more than what you paid for them, such as a $700 Amazon Echo, which may not be a bad idea if you want a good, affordable speaker.
“Amazon’s always trying to take advantage of this as much as they can,” Greenberg noted.
And you can look at the quality of that device, you look into the quality, you see if the product is a good value.”
