Which are the best Indian brands for ecommerce shopping?
The biggest names in the ecommerce space are now available in India and the country is set to witness a surge in ecommerce traffic, with more than 50 brands now offering products in the country.
According to a report by ecommerce consultancy iDigital, the country’s online shopping volume grew by nearly 17% in 2017, according to an average of surveys conducted by research firm Euromonitor International.
However, the survey also found that in 2016, ecommerce revenue rose by 3.5% year-on-year to Rs2.4 lakh crore.
India’s ecommerce industry is already expected to witness the growth of the global consumer in the near future as ecommerce is expected to grow to be one of the top two categories in e-commerce traffic in the next 10-20 years, says a report released by e-retailer Khaitan Bhattacharya in December 2017.
The number of Indian e-tailers has increased by more than 4,000% to 9,000 this year, with the growth rate of the total e-selling industry in the market is expected increase to 18.3% in 2021, said the report.
In terms of the fastest growing e-shop category in India, Khaiton Bhatta says the fastest-growing e-marketplace is the Indian ecommerce marketplace.
The Indian e commerce market grew by 10.2% in the year to March 2017, with e-buyers, sellers, wholesalers and retailers spending almost Rs9.2 lakh crore in India.

“India is the number 1 e-supplier, and now we are the number two e-shopping market.
India has become a major e-hub for the entire world,” he said.
“The e-store and e-trending is happening everywhere, and the demand is increasing in India as well,” he added.
