Alibaba Group launches e commerce trading platform for e-commerce businesses
Alibaba Group, one of the world’s largest internet retailers, has announced the launch of a new e commerce platform that will enable merchants to sell their goods directly to customers through Alibaba Marketplace.
The Alibaba Marketplace platform will allow merchants to make sales on Alibaba’s platforms and will allow customers to buy from merchants on Alibaba Marketplace as well, according to Alibaba CEO Jack Ma.
In the past, Alibaba has worked with online retailers to offer a platform that would allow merchants such as e-tailers to sell to consumers.
In 2018, Alibaba launched the ecommerce platform for Amazon.com, which enabled its e-bargains team to offer its customers a way to purchase Amazon products from its online shop.
Alibaba also launched an ecommerce portal that was initially meant for Alibaba customers to purchase products from third-party sellers.
Alibaba said in its press release that the e- commerce platform will be a key component of the company’s ecommerce strategy for the future, and that it will enable sellers to make their products available on Alibaba marketplace, which will be one of Alibaba’s primary platforms.
Altaia is the third largest ecommerce marketplace, according the e commerce data provider Canaccord Genuity.
Alibaba is also the largest e-retailer, according ecommerce tracker eBays, and one of Amazon’s largest customers.
Alphabets Alibaba Marketplace, the company said, will allow sellers to sell products to their customers through their own sites, without the need for Alibaba Marketplace and other third-parties to act as the middleman between the sellers and their customers.
“With Alibaba Marketplace you can make products available from sellers directly on Alibaba platform, without having to have Alibaba platform as the intermediary,” Alibaba CEO and founder Jack Ma said in a statement.
“This makes it easier to scale your business and build your business around your customers, and also provides an incentive for sellers to expand their business to more countries,” Alibaba Group chairman Jack Ma told the Financial Times.
The company will also offer merchants the ability to add a payment option on their website.
Altsa Marketplace and Alibaba Marketplace will launch on Alibaba.com on July 15, 2020.
Alibaba has not yet announced the price for the platform.
The announcement comes a few months after Alibaba announced plans to expand its ecommerce business to the US.
In March 2020, Alibaba’s e commerce unit, Alibaba Commerce, said it would focus on expanding its e commerce business to Europe and Asia and said it was targeting “over 30 countries across the globe.”
Alibaba Commerce was set up in October 2015.
Albacao is set to become one of China’s top ecommerce companies by 2020.
It said it has sold more than 40 million items, including e-toys, in its first six months.
